A Year in Review!
Check out all the amazing things we achieved in 2018-19.
Thanks to our incredible team and all of our supporters, we’ve been able to grow and spread our message across Australia.
We can't wait to keep this momentum going and continue spreading our Be Wise message in 2020. ...
I was very pleased to meet with the Minister for Victim Support (the Honourable Ben Carroll MP) today with 3 fellow members of the Victims of Crime Consultative Committee (VOCCC) that I am a member of.
The Minister was very generous with his time as we discussed the need for change to ensure Victim’s rights and thoughts are considered at all points of the Justice system.
We look forward to continuing our discussions for meaningful change.

Ben O’Toole was the first presenter to join our team in 2019 and has been much loved by every school and club that he has attended. He has been presenting sessions on violence prevention in high schools and sporting clubs for six years, delivering over 400 sessions to more than 35,000 young people. He has shared stories of victims and perpetrators of violence, offering students other angles and ways to look at this issue. Outside of the Pat Cronin Foundation, Ben works as a facilitator for The Man Cave, delivering emotional intelligence and healthy masculinity workshops for young men in high schools. We are honoured to have a young man in our team who is dedicated to helping end social violence. With his experience in this area, everyone who is lucky enough to see him present always leaves feeling touched and changed by Ben's words.
Some words from Ben on why he wanted to join the Pat Cronin Foundation in 2019, “As a surviving victim of a coward punch in 2007, I have been compelled to share my story as well as other victims of violence. Pat’s story is heartbreaking and incredibly important to tell. I want to help other young people avoid a similar fate by knowing what happened to Pat and to understand the devastating impact his death has had on a community of people.”
When asked what Ben does in his spare time, he said, “I’m very lucky to be married to my beautiful wife Sarah. We have a dog called Pam who helps me get up early every day. Over summer I play touch footy and during winter it’s footy in the Renegade Pub Football League. Both leagues are gender-inclusive and neither are taken very seriously – social sport is way more fun.”
Thank you for being an incredible presenter in our team in 2019 and paving the way for us to welcome 5 more presenters in 2020. We love having you, Ben!
